A friend of mine pointed out that Baen publishing makes their back catalog available for free online. Also, they put out a CD of e-books from their back catalogue which you can share (online or in person), as long as you don’t resell them. So, if you’ve got a little extra time on your hand, you should go check out what they’ve got available, because you might find something you like, in which case you can go buy later books in the series, thereby supporting people who aren’t a bunch of assholes.

You should also read the pages I’ve linked, which explain a good deal about why the respective parties to this dissemination are doing the things that they are, respectively, doing.

I’ll bet you’re just fascinated reading all this. Instead, you should go read Ctrl+Alt+Del–at least, you should if you play a lot of games.

I’ve been playing some Final Fantasy VII. Again. All my roommates are on a FF kick; there are various FFI, FFII, FFVII, and FFIX games going on at the moment at my place. As a matter of fact, they’re practically the only things going on, except that Travis is playing TOCA2 as well. I guess it’s helped us kick our heroin habits, but at what price?

So here I am, back at work. Maybe I just didn’t give Chicken Pox enough of a chance….Anyway, check out Mac Hall. It was linked from Applegeeks, and it looks pretty cool.

Found out the other day there’s a new Ah! My Goddess TV series. Been watching it. It’s pretty cool–a retelling of the OAV stuff, so far. It’s cool. The production values are higher, the gags are better. Worth checking out if you’ve got a few gigs of bandwidth to spare.

Well, that sucked.

I’m mostly better now, just dropping in to drop a link to Applegeeks, which is this cool webcomic I’d forgotten the name of, and was trying to find linked off of one of the rants at Megatokyo, but couldn’t and gave up on.

Naturally, a week after I gave up, Piro posts another link. Nice.

So a while back I stumbled across this unofficial Paul Krugman archive.

If you don’t know who Paul Krugman is, he’s an economist from MIT, who currently teaches at Princeton and writes a column twice a week for the New York Times, where he spends a lot of time debunking the cubic feet of bullshit regularly exported by the Bush administration. If you’ve got a little spare time, you should definitely check it out. Read everything in reverse chronological order.
