Here’s some some pictures I took on the drag, which is the section of Guadalupe street across from the University of Texas. It’s basically just a quirky little shopping and chilling district with some crazy characters and a bunch of semi-homeless students and junkies. I might go back and caption the pictures, but maybe not–they’re by and large exactly what they appear to be, snapshots of works of art or cool buildings, or of my then-roommates Scratch and Victoria, who have a kid now and hardly ever come around. I guess that’s the reason they never come around, anyway…..:P

Just so’s I’m posting…
Monday, May 9th, 2005!#$%!#%$ again.
Monday, May 9th, 2005So that roll pin? Turns out that 5000 blows a minute from an air hammer chisel straightens that lusr out in no time. The only bright spot regarding my vehicle at all is that I got a new air hammer for $20, and it r0×0rz.
It’s the tranny. Only wishful thinking could ever have had me believing otherwise. So that’s $450 I need and don’t have. *sigh*.
That thing I’ve been heading for for eight months? I did that today. Could have gone a lot worse. Still, it doesn’t exactly put me in the happiest of moods.
I don’t feel like writing anything else, so for something completely different, take a look at this gallery of images I took at various points over the last year around my apartments.
#$%!#$%!
Saturday, May 7th, 2005I spent 3-4 hours a night for three nights this week trying to get the transmission out of my vehicle. I’ve almost succeeded, only one seized roll pin away. I hate my life. Even if I get it out, I don’t know if it’s the clutch or the tranny, so I don’t know if I’ve got the money to fix it. I’m almost scared to look.

Saturday, May 7th, 2005Pics from my day trip on Sunday.
Monday, May 2nd, 2005So I’ve got my license back. I no sooner walked in the door (actually, climbed in from the back porch) after getting home from standing around all day getting my license back than my brother called and told me that my car had dropped its transmission. Not thirty seconds. I hadn’t even had time to open the bottle of Terrible that I snagged from Reuben’s Liquor on the way home. I was just standing in the living room, on my way to the kitchen.
I just can’t catch a break.
Who needs breaks anyway? Fuck ‘em. They better watch out. I’m on my way back up, and when I get there, the gods better get the fuck out of my way.
Saturday I walked from Annie and Congress, down Riverside and Barton Springs Road to the botanical gardens, then through Zilker to the Barton Creek Greenbelt trailhead near Columbus Drive and Barton Springs Pool. You can see the sort of approximate path I took on the roads here.
I then walked up the Greenbelt to Gus Fruh, and then rode with my friend to the Mopac access, and walked out to Sculpture Falls and back.
I hadn’t walked that far in a long time, and ended up with this horrible ache in my knee that’s still bothering me. So enjoy these pics.
Here’s Barton Springs Road. These pics came out okay. I haven’t captioned them yet.
Here’s Austin Botanical Gardens. These pictures didn’t come out so great, but there’s a few winners in there. I’m just putting these up until I go back and get something better. I need a better camera.
Here’s my hike at the Greenbelt. These pics came out pretty good.
I’m'a going to get up a proper gallery soon; these are just placeholders until then.
I like what This guy did with his hike description, so I’m probably going to copy the hell out of it. I mean, not his description of the hike, but the format. Look for something on that soon.
